We are running our 2019 Competition differently.

We are holding Two Competitions simultaneously and singers can apply to one or both Competitions:

TRADITIONAL - submit materials for consideration to be selected to sing at the Live Rounds in New York City, December, 2019.   Semi-Finalists are selected from the Quarter-Finalists, and Finalists are selected from the Semi-Finalists.   

$1000 PRIZE for First Place in OPERA

Honorarium Prizes for First Place in Oratorio and Art Song.

ONLINE VIDEO for all rounds.  First Place Winners will have their winning videos posted on the Lyra New York website and internet portal.   Details below. 

$500 PRIZE for First Place in OPERA

LIVE International Vocal Competition

 Singer's Check List

  1. Register for 1 - 3 categories (Opera, Oratorio, Art Song).

  2. Have time to prepare your materials after you register.

  3. Submit your materials by March 15, 2019.

  4. In 1 Email, send your Headshot, Bio, Resume, 3 Contrasting Audio files and/or Video Links for each Category to which you have registered, 2 Professional References' Contact Information, and identify how you heard about this Competition.  All files need to be labeled with your name, name of the work, composer, opera, etc.   Please note that any recording with a pre-recorded orchestral track or electric keyboard will not be accepted.  

  5. If you are selected as a Quarter-Finalist, you will be invited to sing at the Live Rounds in New York City, December, 2019.  Semi--Finalists are selected from the Quarter-Finalists, and Finalists are selected from the Semi-Finalists.

  5. First Place Winners' videos will be posted on the Lyra NY website, and internet portal, and press releases will be sent to the artist-selected national and international media publications.
